Manager
Role of the manager
The Manager is the link between the coach and parents. They are responsible for organising the team
and providing all relevant communications to the parents. They will keep a record of each players
personal information including parent/player contact details and medical information which is to be
kept strictly confidential. This information must be taken to each carnival/game in case of a medical
emergency.
Managers must hold a blue card
A manager’s main responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative support to the coach and assistant coach
- Ensure players have ordered and wear the correct uniform to training and carnivals
- Assist with player wellbeing at training and carnivals
- Ensure all players are registered prior to their first competition
- Point of contact for absences from training, injuries, withdrawals – advise relevant people if
- needed.
- Communicate with players on any training changes/cancellations
- Support the team coach with confidentiality
- Managers do not act in any coaching capacity to the team, except for reiteration of coaching directives already provided by the coach.
- Game Day
- Ensure the score board is collected and all players have signed it before the start of the game
- Ensure there is a scorer for the team at each game
- Ensure the parents comply with the UPNA Code of conduct
- Ensure the parents and spectators treat the umpires with respect
